He was on an official visit to Kamala Nehru Memorial Hospital (KNMH) to assess the facilities available at the hospital here on Friday.

Talking to mediapersons, Hota expressed concern over the increasing cancer cases in UP. The cancer treatment facility is still out of reach of many rural cancer patients. There is a need to upgrade the facilities at Regional Cancer Centre at KNMH to cover more number of cancer patients, he said.
"The government is also working to expand health facilities in the remote areas. Right now the focus is to properly implement National Rural Health Scheme in UP," he added.
He expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided by RCC and KNMH to the patients.
Earlier, Hota inspected the OPD, gynae wing, oncology department, male and female cancer ward and the under construction building of Regional Cancer Centre.
He also saw the apparatus and equipment installed at the hospital.
He arrived at the hospital at around 3 pm, four hours delay than his scheduled time of the visit. In the evening, he presided over a meeting at the KNMH to discuss various other proposals for improving facilities at the hospital.
Also present on the occasion were additional director (health) Allahabad division Dr SK Srivastava, dy chief medical officer Dr SK Mishra, Assistant director RCC Dr B Paul, Dr Krishna Mukherjee and KNMH director.
