UP: spurious liquor claims nine lives

Nine persons were killed while 24 others were taken ill after consuming spurious liquor in several villages in Mubarakpur area, police said on Friday.

Nine persons were killed while 24 others were taken ill after consuming spurious liquor in several villages in Mubarakpur area, police said on Friday.

While some people died at home after consuming the country-made liquor on Thursday, others died at a hospital, Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen said.

The condition of some of the victims was critical.
