More than 200 students from Gurgaon's top schools have shown interest in participating in a national-level singing contest to bag the iCONGO Karma Veer Chakra Award for Music.

More than 200 students from Gurgaon's top schools have shown interest in participating in a national-level singing contest to bag the iCONGO Karma Veer Chakra Award for Music.

The contest, Sing a Song, has been instituted with the United Nations. It is being organised by city-based Lamp Trust in association with Kala Academy, Goa, and city-based Lorraine Music Academy.

The organisers have received calls from students of Pathways World School, The Shri Ram School, GD Goenka World School and Scottish High International School.
The contest has four music categories — patriotic, gospel, folk, pop/rock/Bollywood. Participants have to upload their performance videos on YouTube before October 31. Winners will be announced on November 26.

Lamp president Aubrey Aloysius said, “We believe that the right kind of music makes the right kind of person. Music is food for the soul.”
