ALTHOUGH THE City police were still clueless on Dal Bazaar mass burglary case committed on Wednesday, they achieved a breakthrough in the aluminum conductor wire theft by arresting late last night the gang responsible.

The police also recovered from them huge quantity of conductor wire and instruments such as cutting blades and rope used during theft. They were identified as Ahivaran Jatav (Morar), Balli, Basant Jatav, Nahar Singh Jatav and Anil alias Pappu Jatav.

City Superintendent of Police M S Narang said that kingpin Ahivaran and his accomplices used to sell stolen aluminum conductor wire to a scrap dealer Kallu near Roshnighar locality.

The dealer then, in association with Mahavir Transport, used to carry goods to some other destinations for sale, the SP said. Narang said that the police were making efforts to zero in on other persons involved in these crimes.

Narang stated that rural police here had two major tasks: elimination of Gadaria gang and control on aluminum conductor wire theft cases. He complemented the field staff including the CSP and TI for the success.
