A 30-year old woman was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen in the wee hours on Wednesday in interior Thoubal district of Manipur, official sources said.
Sources said L Menaka, secretary of local women's association called Wangu Tera Lupa Maning was kidnapped from her house in Wangu Tera area, about 65 kms south-east from Imphal, late on Tuesday night by the gunmen.
Police found her body at around 2 am at Wangu area, sources said.
The motive behind the killing was not immediately known, sources said adding that the body has been sent to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital here for post mortem.
