A WORKSHOP to mull over the changes needed in the training curriculum of constables that could increase their professional efficiency was held here on Wednesday.
ADG HK Sarin said training course should be such that it could help in all-round development of trainees. Almost 100 police officials are participating in the workshop.
Sarin stressed on the need for coordination between the organisation that imparts training, course and instructors. IG (Training) Rajendra Kumar said the course for training newly inducted constables was almost 12 years old.
Kumar said personality development, wireless and computer training, practical knowledge of working at police station, case study, development of ability to take decision are some other subjects are proposed to be included in the curriculum.
IG Bhopal Range Sanjeev Singh said the constables were the first to reach to a scene of crime and if they are not trained well, the investigation can not take place properly.
“Investigation includes collection of evidences, recording of statements of witnesses and physical inspection all of which are vital for solving a crime,” he added.
