In the run-up to the VB series, Marshall gave his skipper Brian Lara company as they went about beating Ramnaresh Sarwan XI in a VB series practice match.

The 18-year old batsman played his only first-class match when England toured earlier this year. Earlier, he scored a fine 106 from 133 balls to book West Indies' place in the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup.
