ZP chiefs take oath

NEWLY elected zila panchayat chairpersons and members took oath in several districts across the State on Saturday. In Gorakhpur, district magistrate Hari Om administered the oath of office to chairperson Chinta Yadav.

In Gorakhpur, district magistrate Hari Om administered the oath of office to chairperson Chinta Yadav.

Chinta, later, administered oath to newly elected zila panchayat members.
Hardoi: Zila panchayat chairman Mukesh Agarwal was administered oath of office by district magistrate Ram Mohan Rao. Mukesh is the youngest brother of Transport Minister Naresh Agarwal.

Sitapur: Ajay Bhargava was administered oath as the zila panchayat chairman here on Saturday. Zila panchayat members were also sworn in.

Bharagava had won the election as a Samajwadi Party rebel candidate, but was later welcomed back into the party fold.

Transport Minister Naresh Agarwal was the chief guest at the oath-taking ceremony.

Basti: Sharda Singh took oath as the zila panchayat chairperson.

Sant Kabirnagar: Newly elected zila panchayat chairperson Ameena Khatoon took oath on Saturday along with 12 zila panchayat members in the presence of district magistrate VK Srivastava Fourteen other members of the zila panchayat skipped the oath-taking ceremony.

Azamgarh: Newly elected zila panchayat president Hawaldar Yadav on Saturday said he would quit the moment he failed to do justice to the job.
