A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a hotel room in Indore a week ago, but the incident only came to light on Saturday.

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a hotel room in Indore a week ago, but the incident only came to light on Saturday.

The Tukoganj police have lodged a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and started investigation.

According to the victim, accused Suraj Verma, a resident of Rajkumar Bridge, used to harass her and pass lewd comments on a regular basis.

About a week ago, when the victim was riding to her coaching classes, she was accosted taken to a hotel near the railway station, where he allegedly raped her.

Further investigation is on. The accused is still absconding.
