Raising voice against the alleged police brutality, a large number of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members on Wednesday staged a silent protest in front of Bhanwarkua police station in the city.
The ABVP members demanded immediate action against Bhanwarkua police station in-charge Pradeep Singh Ranawat and Sarafa city superintendent of police Aditya Pratap Singh after nearly a dozen of their friends were injured in Monday’s cane-charge.
In the morning, a large number of ABVP activists, covering their mouths in black strap, gathered at the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhyalaya (DAVV) teaching department’s gate.
They moved towards Bhanwarkua taking out a rally amidst slogans against 'police brutality' and their arrest in an alleged unlawful manner.
On Tuesday, a delegation, led by state organising secretary Vijay Atwal, had met state home minister Babulal Gaur and demanded action against police personnel.
The activists had also staged a protest at the DIG office in Indore and submitted a memorandum to DIG Rakesh Gupta.
