In fact, western railways has stopped the reservation for Indore-Mumbai Avantika Express for sleeper and III AC coaches for October 26 as even the waiting list threshold has been breached.

Railway officials say that the Western Railways has introduced special trains and also increased the number of coaches but the bookings have been overwhelming.

Meanwhile, the bus operators have hiked the fare of Mumbai-Indore and Pune-Indore buses by threefold as the demand for buses has increased with trains running full. As against a fare of Rs 400, many bus operators are charging Rs 1,200.
