On Saturday, the boy, Tanveer, had allegedly killed his 12-year-old sister, Tanzila, after a fight and later committed suicide by hanging himself when the siblings’ parents were away.

The police had claimed that the boy had stabbed his sister, as a knife was found near the place of the incident. However, a short post-mortem report of the girl revealed that there were no knife injuries on her body. Further investigations are going on.

A section of media had reported illicit relations of the father and regular altercation between the parents as the reason behind the extreme step taken by the boy.

However, assistant superintendent of police Rajesh Sahay said, “It appears that a sudden brawl between the siblings turned violent. There is no evidence to support other theories going around.”
