Indore: Man held for raping 13-year-old daughter

Police late on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter for the past eight months. The action was taken after the mother of the girl lodged a case against her husband with the police.

Police on Thursday night arrested a man allegedly for raping his 13-year-old daughter for last eight months. The action was taken after the mother of the girl lodged a case against her husband with Hira Nagar police.

The matter came to light after the harassed girl reportedly tried to commit suicide a few days ago by consuming some poisonous substance. However, the girl’s mother saved her.

In-charge Hira Nagar thana Basant Mishra said the girl reached the police station along with her elder sister and mother and lodged a case on Thursday night.

In her complaint, the girl alleged that eight months ago, when she was alone in the house, her father raped her. The accused had also threatened to kill the mother and sister if they informed anybody about the incident. Later, the accused used to rape the girl regularly when no one was at home.

On Tuesday evening, when her mother and sister went for shopping the accused again sexually assaulted the victim. Subsequently, the girl tried to commit suicide. However, timely intervention of her mother saved her life.

Later on, the girl narrated the incident to the mother and sister, who decided to lodge a complaint. Police said further investigation in the case is on.
