The New Year brought a special moment for the 57-year-old Madhya Pradesh advocate, who has been helping political biggies file nomination papers at Indore collectorate for past 30 years.
The moment, that Pradeep Holkar thinks is too thrilling to express, has been helping his daughter file her nomination for the mayoral election on Friday. The civic body elections are scheduled for January 31.
A 26-year-old Komal Holkar completed her graduation in law and started practising at the Indore high court three years ago.
An ecstatic advocate Pradeep Holkar says, "Today is the happiest day of my life."Holkar, who is popular among veteran politicians as 'nomination bhai', has helped Lok Sabha speaker and eight-time MP from Indore Sumitra Mahajan, Kailash Vijayvargiya and many other big and small leaders file their nomination papers.
But, he was more happy to find Komal exude the confidence of a potential mayor. Talking to HT, Komal said, "I have all the quality that the first person of the city should have. I am ready for the big fight, despite a lack of political background."
On how his daughter decided to enter into the fray, Pradeep said, "Till date, no political party has declared its mayoral candidate. So, Komal thought why not contest for the top post this time.
"Though it's a very tough game, but only those taste victory, who face the battle," advocate Pradeep summed it up, showing his work-a-day dynamism.
