Seven killed as bus crashes into truck in Madhya Pradesh

Seven people were killed while 40 others were injured when a bus rammed into a truck in Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. The bus was on its way from Rajasthan to Maharashtra.

Seven people were killed while more than 40 others were injured when a bus rammed into a truck in Ratlam on Monday. The bus was on its way from Rajasthan to Maharashtra.

The mishap took place near Manankheri on the Ratlam – Neemuch national highway. Police said a private bus carrying 47 passengers from Sikar, Rajasthan to Nasik, Rajasthan collided with truck.

Villagers near the accident site rushed to the spot and helped bring out the trapped passenger. According to Jaora police, 19 person have been admitted at Ratlam's district hospital, while 21 were admitted at Jaora.

Most of the passengers were going to Nasik to take holy dip on the auspicious occasion of Somvati Amavasya.

The deceased were identified as Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Nawalgarh (Rajsthan), Kishore Singh, a resident of Churu (Rajasthan), Shyam Deshmukh of Jalgaon Maharashtra), Mahendra kumar of Nawalgarh (Rajasthan), Santosh Damami, a resident of Ratlam and Mukesh.

One of the victim's identity couldn't be ascertained till the filing of this report. Doctors at Ratlam referred one person to Indore's MY hospital whose condition was said to be critical. At the time of incident, most of the passengers were in deep sleep.
