With Rajasthan Assembly elections set to take place next year, Uma Bharti's Bhartiya Janshakti Party which has an acronym similar to BJP's has begun an exercise to strengthen her party.

Party sources said that they had identified 68 constituencies out of 200 where it feels it has gained a sound following and can further strengthen itself.

In the last 10 months, the party has enrolled thousands as primary members. Besides, 22 district working committees at block level have been formed.

Uma Bharati formed the Rajasthan unit of her party in May last year. After the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, she is likely to undertake an extensive tour of Rajasthan.

The party seems confident that a number of BJP leaders would join it just before Rajasthan picks a new assembly in 2008.
