"I am being continuously criticised why I am here... away from the national capital. But, I would like to make it clear that I am not supposed to answer the CPI (M). I will do my work here as it is my home," Banerjee told a civic poll rally here.

"Delhi is not my home. When there is no Parliament, why should I stay in Delhi? Kolkata is my home."

Stating that she did not need certificates from the CPI (M), she said, "I don't care for criticism by marxists."

The CPI (M) had attacked Banerjee for spending more time in Kolkata than in Delhi and charged her with neglecting her duty as the Railway minister following Sunday's stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, which left three persons dead.
