Two more die of swine flu in state

Two more swine flu deaths were reported in the city on Tuesday pushing the state death toll to 17. Nineteen more swine flu cases cases were reported in the state, pushing the number of cases to 245.

“Two male patients died at the ID Hospital in Beliaghata. Earlier, the two patients were undergoing treatment at two private hospitals in Howrah and EM Bypass. They were brought to the ID Hospital signing a discharge on risk bond forms at the two private hospitals,” said Moloy De, state health secretary.

Two doctors treating a 12-year-old swine flu patient at Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital developed H1N1 symptoms. The two doctors were taken off duty. Their swabs were sent to Kolkata on Tuesday. Jalpaiguri became the first North Bengal district to have a confirmed case of swine flu.
