The show is part of a one-day cultural festival that takes place at the NCPA today (November 15). “One of our activities involves a talk on cricket, so we wanted to come up with an extension for it. This exhibition will have a lot of memorabilia for cricket lovers to check out. There’s also a special section dedicated to Tendulkar.

It’s a happy coincidence that his last match is also underway right now,” says Anil Dharker, festival director, Literature Live. The gloves on show are the ones he wore when he scored his 100th century against Bangladesh last year. “Unlike other exhibitions, this one allows you to actually pick up the items and get a feel of something that has been owned by him,” adds Dharker, whose favourite item on display is the bat that has been autographed by Tendulkar.

Other items on display also include a 1983 World Cup stamp, caricatures of the Indian team that toured England in 1932, a letter from a first class cricket ball maker citing his rates back in the ’30s and another one from a Maharaja to ex-cricketer CK Nayudu, apart from pictures, souvenirs and postcards.
