‘Jumlebaazi, foreign tours and lectures’: Arvind Kejriwal’s rebuttal to PM Modi
The Prime Minister had attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for its failure to deliver on its promises and tarnishing the image of the common people in his first rally during the Lok Sabha election 2019 in the national capital on Wednesday.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has tweeted a sharp rebuttal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who accused the AAP-led government in Delhi of bringing in a new political culture of “nakampanthi” or non-performance.
The Prime Minister had attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday for its failure to deliver on its promises and tarnishing the image of the common people at his first rally in the national capital for the Lok Sabha election 2019.
The Aam Aadmi Party boss also accused PM Modi of seeking votes over “fake nationalism”. But before he went on an offensive, Kejriwal first listed the four sectors where he said, his government had done a lot.
“We have done a lot of work (in the fields of) education, health, electricity, water. What have you (PM Modi) done in the last five years - lectures, foreign tours and jumlebaazi? Anything else? That is why you are seeking votes in the name of fake and false nationalism,” Arvind Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.
“The residents of Delhi had asked three questions of you. You have no answers to those,” Kejriwal added as he tagged Modi’s Thursday tweet in which he said Delhi government brought in a model of “nakampanthi” and cheated the people of the city.
The Delhi Chief Minister was referring to his questions on Wednesday seeking answers to the Prime Minister.
“Why didn’t the BJP pass an ordinance and stop sealing in Delhi? In 2014, PM Narendra Modi promised full statehood for Delhi. Why did the BJP not grant full statehood? Why is Imran Khan endorsing Narendra Modi?” Kejriwal had asked.
The Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has been on a warpath with the Centre over several issues, including control over the Centre’s administration and demand for the statehood, which has become the AAP’s main plank during the Lok Sabha election 2019.
