Lok Sabha elections 2019: In Bihar’s Araria, it’s trumps up for RJD

Mohammed Taslimuddin of the Rashtirya Janata Dal (RJD) won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Pradeep Kumar Singh of the of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by more than 1.46 lakh votes.
Araria Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 40 parliamentary constituencies in Bihar in eastern India. This constituency came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamenatary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.

Mohammed Taslimuddin of the Rashtirya Janata Dal (RJD) won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, defeating Pradeep Kumar Singh of the of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by more than 1.46 lakh votes.
Taslimuddin died on 17 September 2017 at the age of 74 after being treated for respiratory problems in Chennai, following which his son Sarfaraz Alam contested and won the bye-elections on a Rashtirya Janata Dal ticket in March 2018.
There were 1,587,348 electorate in the Araria Lok Sabha Constituency in the 2014 elections, out of which 842,884 are male and the remaining 744,464 are female.
According to the estimates of the 2011 census, out of total 2,811,569 population, there were 1,463,333 males and 1,348,236 females in Araria district.
Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was 61.47%.
