A 16-year-old girl was allegedly thrown off the third floor of a house after she was kidnapped and gang-raped in Kanpur’s posh Krishna Nagar area late Saturday evening.

The victim has been admitted to Taurus Hospital here, where her condition is said to be critical.

Angry locals pelted stones at the house and restaurant of one of the accused Sunny Yadav. Police had to lathicharge the mob to control the situation.

While Sunny was arrested, two of his friends were untraceable.

The victim lives in a rented house opposite Sunny’s house.

Her family members told police that Sunny and his friends allegedly dragged her into the house where she was raped before being thrown off. Locals said they saw the girl falling and hitting the ground.

“I was quite close when she fell. While some neighbours informed the police, others rushed her to the hospital. She was unconscious and bled profusely,” said Ambika Singh, a local.

The family said she was being stalked since long by the accused.

SP East Anurag Arya said the police were waiting for the family to give a formal complaint.
