Cloth merchant nabbed for molestation bid on cop’s wife

A cloth merchant was arrested for allegedly assaulting and attempting to molest a constable’s wife. The accused Ramanuj, the former landlord of the constable, went to his house and asked his wife to call her husband. But when the woman told him that the constable was away, he allegedly caught her by force and dragged her inside her own house and attempted to molest her

A cloth merchant was arrested for allegedly assaulting and attempting to molest a constable’s wife on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the accused Ramanuj, the former landlord of the constable, went to his house and asked his wife to call her husband. But when the woman told him that the constable was away, he allegedly caught her by force and dragged her inside her own house and attempted to molest her.

However, the woman was saved after neighbours rushed to her help after hearing her cries for help.

The neighbours then informed the Para police and also called the constable, who went to Ramanuj’s house. But, the accused allegedly thrashed the constable along with his friends. The police later arrested Ramanuj and his friends.

According to the woman’s complaint, the accused had attempted to molest the woman three months ago too when the couple was living in his house in Alambagh area as tenants.
