Dacoity at Lucknow trader’s flat: Cops recover ₹12.86 lakh cash
Police officials recovered ₹12.86 lakh on the revelation of the two co-accused, constable Pradeep Singh Bhaudaria, the gunner of ASP Crime, and the constable’s personal driver Anand Yadav.
The Lucknow police, on Sunday, managed to recover merely ₹12.86 lakh out of the missing ₹1.65 crore cash that was recovered from the three accused of the dacoity at the trader’s flat in Omaxe Residency apartments in Gosaiganj on March 9.
Police officials recovered ₹12.86 lakh on the revelation of the two co-accused, constable Pradeep Singh Bhaudaria, the gunner of ASP Crime, and the constable’s personal driver Anand Yadav.
The duo was taken into two-day custody remand by Gosaiganj police on Sunday after the lawyer, Madhukar Mishra, the key accused in the crime, had stated that the constable and his driver took away all cash after the crime. Mishra is also in five-day custody remand since Thursday.
A senior police official privy to the investigation said so far total ₹15.26 lakh of the missing amount has been recovered. He said around ₹2.40 lakh was recovered from the two sub-inspectors Pawan Mishra and Ashish Tewari, who were also allegedly involved in the dacoity.
He said the trader Ankit Agrahari had alleged that ₹3.38 crore cash was present at his flat number 104 of Omaxe Residency when the seven accused allegedly had raided the trader’s house on the pretext of recovering unaccounted cash, following a tip-off by the lawyer Madhukar Mishra.
They allegedly looted ₹1.85 crore out of the ₹3.38 crore that the trader showed them, leaving only ₹1.53 crore as ‘recovery’ to be presented before senior cops. The probe further revealed that the accused had allegedly taken away ₹1.65 crore and the cash recovered was around Rs1.73 crore. The official said soon more recovery was likely.
