Family members of Kasganj victim meet CM, demand martyr’s status

Family members of Chandan Gupta, the youth killed in Kasganj on January 26, said they met chief minister Yogi Adityanath and have demanded the status of a martyr for Chandan.

Chandan’s sister Kirti Gupta and a maternal aunt reached the secretariat on Tuesday to meet the chief minister, along with Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha vice president Abhijat Mishra. 

In a 10-minute conversation with the CM, Kirti demanded martyr’s status and stern action against those responsible for killing him. They also handed over a memorandum to the CM on their demands. 

“The CM has assured us that stern action will be taken against those responsible for Chandan’s death. But he did not say anything on our demand of granting the status of a martyr to my brother,” Kirti tGupta said after meeting the chief minister.
