The accused, Neeraj Sharma, was nabbed with the joint efforts of the cyber cell and Govind Nagar police of Mathura. He used to charge Rs 550 for arranging ‘VIP darshan’ on priority and Rs 1,250 for booking VIP rooms in the temple, said police.

The arrest came after a complaint by one Lalit Prajapati. He had found a phone number on the website of Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi. When Prajapati called up, one Vijay, claiming himself to be an official of the temple, assured him of a room on the temple premises.

However, no room was booked. When the matter was taken up with the OSD at the temple Vijay Bahadur Singh, he said that no such service was offered.
