19-year-old falls to death from moving train in Mumbai
According to the police, the man was travelling in a CSMT-bound train from Mankhurd station for some work around 10.45am.
A 19-year-old teenager died after he fell from a moving train between Mankhurd and Govandi railway stations on Wednesday.
According to the police, Farooq Abdul Shaikh was travelling in a CSMT-bound train from Mankhurd station for some work around 10.45am. He fell off the moving train.
“A few passengers who spotted him lying along the tracks informed us about the incident. We reached the spot and took him to Rajabai hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival,” said a police officer from Vashi GRP.
The police recovered his Aadhaar card from his pocket and informed his family, who then reached the hospital. The police handed over the body after post-mortem.
“It is not confirmed if the compartment Shaikh was travelling in was overcrowded. We are also not sure if he was doing some stunts as we have not yet found any eyewitness. We are investigation to find out the cause,” the officer said. The police have registered an accidental death case.
