After new bungalow, Mumbai mayor wants new car
Last week, Mumbai mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar had demanded a bungalow in Malabar Hill for his official residence.
The new mayor of Mumbai, Vishwanath Mahadeshwar of the Shiv Sena, now wants a new car, an Innova no less, saying the three at his disposal are more than four years old.

Last week he had demanded a bungalow in Malabar Hill for his official residence, rejecting the bungalow set aside for him on the Byculla Zoo premises. The original Mayor’s residence at Dadar has been earmarked for a memorial to the Sena founder, the late Bal Thackeray.
The mayor has three official cars, all maintained on the tax payer’s money – a Scorpio for use during the monsoon, an SUV for daily use, and a Honda City sedan as a standby. Mahadeshwar has now written to the civic administration saying he wants a new Innova for daily use. The civic administration is yet to respond.
