BMW runs over pedestrian at Goregaon: Accused to be produced in court today

The pedestrian is believed to be in his thirties, officials said, adding they are trying to establish his identity

A 20-year-old college student who was arrested for killing a pedestrian while speeding in a BMW at Goregaon (West) on Monday, will be produced before a metropolitan court today.

The Bangur Nagar police said the incident took place around 3.40 pm on Monday when the motorist, Siddharth Rajkumar Vijan, was driving the BMW along Dumping Road when he hit the pedestrian, a local scrap collector. The pedestrian is believed to be in his thirties, officials said, adding they are trying to establish his identity. The man was crossing the road when Vijan was allegedly speeding along the stretch. Unable to break in time, Vijan ended up hitting the man, who suffered severe head injuries, said an officer.

Vijan, a son of a businessman, stays in Goregaon (West).
