Brothers stab 25-yr-old seeking relationship with their sister

Two brothers attacked 25-year-old man with a knife on Wednesday evening for trying to get into a relationship with their sister. While the attackers have been detained, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at the KEM Hospital.

According to officials from DN Nagar police station, the incident occurred around 5pm in Gilbert hill area, Andheri (West). The accused were identified as Salim Farid Shaikh, 22, and his brother (name withheld, as the police are checking whether he is a minor or not ). The victim Imran Ajiiz Chaus, 25, has a couple of theft cases registered against him.

Besides getting enraged by the victim’s attempt to establish a relation with their sister, the Shaikh brothers and Chaus had been nursing past enmity. The brothers attacked Chaus with a knife, following which he sustained injuries to his hands and head, which was serious. Chaus was initially rushed to the Cooper Hospital and was later shifted to KEM.

A case has been registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
