Drugs worth Rs 9 lakh seized, 2 peddlers arrested in Mumbai

In two separate cases, the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch nabbed two drug peddlers and seized two kilograms of Hashish or Hash worth Rs 8 lakh and 52 grams of Mephedrone (MD) or Meow Meow drugs from them.

ANC chief, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shivdeep Lande confirmed the development.

In the first case, the ANC officials from the Azad Maidan unit on Tuesday around 8.10 pm arrested Ayub Habib Kadiwala, 43, a resident of Sitaram Chawl in Jogeshwari west. Kadiwala was found in possession of 2 kilograms of Hashish worth Rs 8 lakh. He was nabbed near Bombay hospital.

The second arrest was made by the Worli unit where they arrested accused Abdul Hamid Musa Habia, 42, a resident of Chnchbandar Dongri. Habia was arrested around 11.15 pm on Tuesday near Shankar Temple on PB road in Worli. About 52 grams of MD worth Rs 1.04 lakh was found on him. Both accused have been arrested under section 8(c), and 20(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
