Mumbai doctor, held for molesting 41-yr-old, granted bail

Dr. Rahul Ghangale was arrested on Friday and sent to judicial custody on the same day.

A 30-year-old doctor from Khar (West), who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly molesting a 41-year-old woman, was granted bail on Saturday for Rs25,000.

Dr Rahul Ghangale, who has an eye clinic in Khar, allegedly molested the woman on December 6 on the pretext of treating her thryoid pain, as he is an Ayurvedic doctor as well.

After the woman told her husband about the incident a few days later, the couple filed a complaint at the Khar police station on Wednesday. An FIR was registered against Ghangale, who was arrested on the same day and sent to judicial custody on Friday.

Ghangale’s defence lawyer, S D Sherkhane, has denied the claims, stating that the woman was merely seeking to tarnish his client’s reputation owing to a dispute over payment of fees.
