Senior police inspector of the Saki Naka police station, Avinash Dharmadhikari, sustained injuries after being thrown off his bike when he hit a pothole in Andheri (East) around 11 pm on Sunday.
Dharmadhikari had been heading towards his residence near Sahar Airport. “My bike hit the pothole before I noticed it. I lost my balance, got thrown off the bike and sustained minor injuries on my hand, legs and other parts of my body,” he said.
Soon after the incident, he posted his experience on various social networking sites, hoping to draw the attention of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He has requested it to fill the pothole so further accidents can be avoided.
“The pothole is around 4 ft wide and 7-8 inches deep. It is located near Sagar Hotel, where the airport road and highway meet,” said Dharmadhikari.
“This pothole should be filled to prevent accidents or loss of life,” he said.
