Traffic on Ghodbunder Road in Thane halts for hours after truck turns
The container driver Suresh Satera,30, suffered a minor head injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Traffic at Ghodbunder Road was thrown out of gear as a heavy motor vehicle container coming from Gujarat turned at 4.30 am on Majiwada Flyover.

Sources said the container was coming from Gujarat and was heading towards JNPT.
The incident resulted in heavy traffic jam and traffic towards Mumbai and Nashik moved at snail’s pace. The bridge had to be closed down to clear the container.
A police official from Thane commissionerate said,”Commuters who were passing by called the police and also helped the driver and rushed him to the hospital.”
Santosh Kadam from Regional Disaster Management Cell, Thane, said,”We were informed late about the accident which caused heavy traffic on the road towards Mumbai for more than four hours. Two cranes were called in for help and the container was pulled aside, the bridge was closed down on temporary basis”.
