A 10-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her Gorai residence on Saturday afternoon.
Vaishali More, a resident of Sant Tukaram Chawl, was alone after her father Suryavan, a painter, left for work. When her mother, who works as a domestic help, returned, she saw that Vaishali had hung herself from the ceiling fan using a saree.
Police said she had attempted suicide a month ago also, by swallowing a bottle full of fever medicines. No note was found, and the police are still unclear about why the girl decided to end her life.
