ATS officials said they had summoned Taquee a long time ago but he did not appear before them saying he had problems. When a team of ATS officials had gone to Delhi to serve summons to him sometime back in Delhi, Taquee had called up the local police and ATS officials were reportedly detained by the local police.

Taquee then moved the Supreme Court alleging he was harassed by the ATS and his brother Naquee had been falsely implicated in the 13/7 case. After this, the apex court directed Taquee to appear before the ATS in Mumbai, but have directed the agency to not arrest Taquee till March 16.

ATS investigations found that Naquee had sold certain SIM cards to the accused which were used during the 13/7 blasts. ATS wants to check if Taquee has any connection with the case.

Taquee's brother, Naquee has been arrested in the 13/7 case for allegedly helping other accused get explosives. He also allegedly stole the two-wheelers in which the bombs were planted at Zaveri Bazar and Opera house.
