The incident occurred when Vineet Paresh Shah, an Andheri resident, was travelling from Juhu towards DN Nagar in his Honda City car at 8.30am.

When Shah reached Vaikunthlal Mehta Road, he suddenly lost control over the vehicle and collided with an autorickshaw.

Autorickshaw driver Laxman Prajapati, 40, suffered minor injuries.

"Shah took Prajapati to Cooper hospital, from where he was shifted to a private hospital in Dadar. Prajapati got three stitches on his forehead and four on his knee," said Arun Jadhav, senior inspector of Juhu police.

"Shah was not driving under the influence of alcohol," said Jadhav. He was arrested on charges of rash driving, but was later released on bail.
