But the girl was not found in the well after a search operation conducted by the fire brigade and police officials.

According to the police, Tania Shaikh from Pascalwadi, left for her tuition classes on Saturday evening and was not seen after that.

The victim’s parents lodged a missing person’s complaint early Sunday morning.

It was then that the police found that Tania did not attend her classes on Saturday.

While the officials were investigating the area around Tania’s tuition centre, they found her slippers near a well and suspected she might have slipped and drowned.

“The fire brigade officials conducted a search operation for around four hours but Tania could not be traced,” said Senior Police Inspector V. Aandhale of Malvani police station.

The police are now removing water from the well to find Tania’s body.

But they said the possibility of finding the girl’s body is minimal, because the body would have been easily traced if it were inside.
