Adarsh case: State to move for ex-babu’s removal
The state will initiate proceedings to remove information commissioner Ramanand Tiwari from his constitutional post because he has refused to resign. This will be the second casualty in the Adarsh case after state human rights commission member, Subhash Lalla, who resigned on Monday.

Tiwari allegedly granted swift clearances to the Colaba tower, including a floor space index hike when he was urban development secretary. His son, Omkar, has a flat in the tower.
Governor K Sankaranarayanan rejected Tiwari’s leave application on Wednesday.
Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan was to decide on placing the state’s report, making a case for Tiwari’s suspension on grounds of misconduct, before the governor after returning from Aurangabad on Wednesday.
Mantrayala sources said if the governor agrees with the report he can suspend Tiwari.
