The CBI had frozen the society's accounts in January this year after registering a case in scam.

The society contended before the court that it should be allowed to raise money from its members.

The bench, however, asked the society to clarify whether it wanted its bank accounts defreezed or whether it wanted to raise money from its members and open a new account. It asked the society to make its stand clear on Monday when the case is scheduled to come up for hearing.

The society approached the apex court after the Bombay high court had, on July 27, dismissed its plea to defreeze its bank accounts.
