Two days after a woman found a cellphone belonging to a McDonald’s employee running in video mode in the outlet's restroom, the absconding employee — Sachin Waghmare (22) — surrendered before the Thane court on Monday.
Kasarwadavli resident, Shilpa Koparde (29), was at the fast food outlet at Big Mall on Ghodbunder Road with her husband. When Koparde went to the restroom, Waghmare allegedly asked her to wait outside so that he could clean it.
When Koparde went in, she found the loo was still dirty. She got suspicious, checked around and spotted the camera.
She alerted her husband, who informed the management.
Waghmare, a resident of Sainagar slums, fled. A case of intent to insult the modesty of a woman was filed against him.
"He surrendered before the court and was granted bail. We will call him for interrogation and will take action against him," said Senior Police Inspector, Pramod Khade.
