More than 350 passengers booked to travel on board two Air India fights were held up at Mumbai airport for want of pilots on Saturday.
According to airport officials, a Mumbai-Dubai flight, AI-983, scheduled to leave the city at 6:24pm, will travel almost 12 hours later on Sunday morning.
Another flight, AI-310 to Hong Kong via Delhi, was clubbed with the airline’s New York flight along the same route.
“Hundreds of passengers created a ruckus at the airport owing to the last minute cancellations of the two flights,” said an airport official.
“Air India flight AI-983 and flight AI-310 are rescheduled due to operational reasons. We have ensured all passengers are accommodated in other flights, said an AI spokesperson.
