Anil Dave to be new CJ of Bombay High Court

Justice Anil Ramesh Dave will be the next Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, official sources said on Tuesday.

Justice Anil Ramesh Dave will be the next Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, official sources said on Tuesday.

Dave, currently the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, will take the charge on or before February 15, they said.

Previous Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Swatanter Kumar was elevated to the Supreme Court last December and since then Justice J N Patel has assumed the charge as the acting chief justice.

Dave is also a qualified chartered accountant. He was a Solicitor to the Government of Gujarat and Additional Government Pleader, Gujarat High Court from April 1986 to August 1994.

He was elevated to Gujarat High Court in September 1995 and was appointed as Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court in January 2008.
