Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, 85, spent his fifth day at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra, on Saturday.

Doctors treating Thackeray maintained that he is undergoing routine investigations at the hospital and is doing fine.

Thackeray was admitted to hospital on Tuesday after he complained of breathlessness and other problems.

On Wednesday, he was shifted out of the hospital’s intensive care unit.

At present he is admitted to a private room in the hospital.

Doctors said that he will be discharged only next week, as he is still scheduled to undergo few more tests.

Thackeray is known to be suffering from chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD), a lung disease which leads to difficulty in breathing and an inschemic heart disease causing lowered blood supply to the heart.
