He added that the amalgamation of two plots belonging to two different owners is possible with the consent of both owners. In case of amalgamation, the two plots become a single plot with a single city survey number.
After Adarsh society appro-ached the state requesting that it be permitted to utilise the FSI of an adjoining BEST plot, the Urban Development Depart-ment agreed to let it do so.
However, Kumar told the commission, the civic body was never informed about the amalgamation of the BEST plot and the land that was granted to Adarsh society. “The BMC has not received any document showing the amalgamation of these two plots,” he said.
The usage of BEST FSI by Adarsh has been a contentious issue, with claims that rules were subverted to give undue benefit to the society.
