BMC, NGO tie up to clean road for ganpati

Wanting to ensure a cleaner ride for the elephant-headed God this year, activists from Clean Mumbai Foundation have tied up with BMC for a cleaner Andheri-Kurla road.

Wanting to ensure a cleaner ride for the elephant-headed God this year, activists from Clean Mumbai Foundation have tied up with BMC for a cleaner Andheri-Kurla road.

The road, prominently used while idols are taken for immersion to Powai Lake, will be the focus of the campaign, which will involve having 50 volunteers patrolling the street and cleaning it up. In addition new litterbins will be installed at the spot. Additional Municipal Commissioner A.K. Singh initiated the campaign on Monday. The campaign will go on till September 10.
