Rakesh will be soon heading to England for a six-week soccer training with Queens Park Rangers club (QPR). Rakesh and Praful Kumar, who is from Navy Children School, were selected for training by QPR coaches Steve Gallen and Paul Bruce after a four-day training camp at the Western Railway Football Ground.

They had participated in the South Mumbai Junior Challenge tournament organised by MP Milind Deora last month. Out of the 30 boys selected, Rakesh and Praful managed to impress QPR coaches. A son of a peon and homemaker, Rakesh has made rapid strides in soccer playing for his school team.

The expenses of Rs 20 lakh for his tour will be borne by QPR club and he will leave for his training stint on October 1, said his team coach.
