"We will ask builders to construct parking lots 500 metre away from railway stations, metro stations and bus depots. We will ask builders to connect skywalks with parking lots to provide a hassle-free movement to people," Additional Municipal Commissioner Aseem Gupta said.

According to the state government policy of constructing public parking lots on private land will offer extra Floor Space Index (FSI), as an incentive, to builders who build such parking lots.

"The traffic department will inspect 27 roads where parking lots will come up in the city," Gupta said.

Of the total 50 proposals, 17 have been cleared.
