The CBI found that Kumar, who is in CBI’s custody since Saturday in the alleged corruption case involving railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal nephew Vijay Singla, had tried to hide two bags containing crucial documents with the help of his wife and a Railway Protection Force (RPF) inspector.
The agency also recovered 25 blank stamp papers purchased from 2004 to 2012, raising suspicion that Kumar could have hidden details of other property that could be benami — in somebody else’s name.
The controversy has also gripped a senior RPF official on whose instruction the inspector accompanied Kumar’s wife Anjali and hid the bags at one of his relatives’ house. Further, Anjali was also accompanied by the senior RPF official’s wife during this entire process.
