Class 8 boy held for raping minor

The police arrested a Class 8 student who allegedly raped a four-year-old girl in Kurla on Sunday night. The accused who is a resident of Kurla, lured the girl to his residence by promising her chocolates, said the police.

The incident was discovered on Sunday night when the minor returned home and told her mother about the incident. The victim’s parents who knew the accused, rushed to the police station and registered a case against the boy. The teenager fled from his house as soon as he found that girl has told her parents about the incident, but the police caught him.

“We arrested the accused and sent him to Dongri Children’s home as he is below 18 years of age. We are awaiting the medical reports of both the victim and the accused to strengthen the case,” said KS Chaudhari, senior police inspector of
